This week, we continue with James and “The Church in the Mirror.” James pushes us to look at the Word as though it was a mirror and let the Word itself tell us what we really look like. Have you looked – really looked – at your life as the Word reflects it for you lately? Do you live as though the Bible were true? By that, I mean, “If the Bible is true, then what do I need to do about what it tells me today?” If you can ask and answer that question positively, great things will happen. I challenge you today, live as though the Bible were true – because it is!
Don’t miss our “Unveiling Islam” services next week. Two of the leading Christian authorities on Islam will be with us on March 1. Ergun and Emir Caner, brothers who grew up Muslim but came to faith in Jesus Christ, will be sharing with us. This will be a very revealing look at the beliefs and priorities of the Islamic world. The Caners will also give us insight into how we can best relate to the Muslims around us in America. Muslims need to know Christ, and they need to see the gospel lived out in a compelling way. How can we do that? That’s the question we’ll be answering. I urge each of you to make this day a priority.
Now that we’ve made the decision and moved money toward the Compassion Ministry, things will be getting underway. Scott Sheppard has been laying the groundwork of contacts and relationships with the community and we’ll soon see some avenues of opportunity open up. But we don’t have to wait – we can help NOW. On March 8, I’m asking you to bring dozens and hundreds of canned goods and non-perishables to our service that morning. We’re going to help feed a hungry and hurting community and the power of thousands at First Euless will help meet this need. So get ready to “can” hunger in our community on March 8. I want us to build a mountain of food for those who have need!
God has given us some great pastors and staff members here at First Euless. Below, we’ve listed those whose anniversaries with us fall during this month. Help us by giving them a word of encouragement and appreciation!
